Hello, February

Farewell January and all your frigid weather. If any of you are like me, then this weather drives you nuts. While normally I hate the idea of being cooped up indoors for days on end. I have taken advantage of the free time, rolled up my sleeves and began creating new images for my portfolio. Portraits are the main work being created, but I haven't limited myself to that area alone. By keeping to my roots, I have also been creating images from my on-going documentary project on my childhood friend Robert.

This past week I had the opportunity to take Roberts portrait and accompany him during a visit to a new fitness center aimed at helping clients with physical disabilities. This was big for Robert because before finding the center, Robert was limited to working out in his apartment unsupervised or exercising at physical therapy for one hour per weekly session - not nearly enough time for a guy that growing up couldn't sit in a class seat for more than a twenty minutes. The new fitness center would allow Robert to meet new people that share his same disability. A place where patients can share their wisdom with him and help make his life easier.

I will be updating you all with more images from the ongoing series as I take them. Please stay tuned for more portraits as well -
